The 2nd Guancasco International Sculpture Symposium and ISSA Honduras was held in San Nicolas,

Honduras, Central America from May 30 to June 22, where six sculptors from Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico,

El Salvador, Colombia, and Honduras completed their works. Honduras is a country that has just established

diplomatic relations with China and was the center of the Mayan civilization.

With the support of the Municipality of San Nicolas and its mayor, Carmen Alicia Paz, ISSA member Roberto

Ventura, has already organized two editions of the Sculpture Symposium here, a plan for the next ten years

aimed at enriching the city's cultural heritage and transforming it into a museum of sculptures in the open air,

sculptures made from materials such as the grey marble works of San Nicolas. During the event, the Honorary

Member of the Union, the Minister of Culture of Honduras, also visited the sculptors of the symposium.

Currently, St. Nicholas boasts 22 sculptures by artists from 12 different countries. It has become a cultural

tourism destination in the region. Including the first edition of 15 high-level sculptures from China,

Montenegro, Brazil, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Spain and Honduras.
