In September, the first Gurjaani International Sculpture Symposium and ISSA Georgia was held in the
"Winery City", Gurjaani, the birthplace of the world's wine.The closing ceremony was attended by
the Mayor Giorgio Machavarini and the Chairman of the City Council Vano Belizishvili, and sculptors from
5 countries participated in the event, including the Chinese sculptor Jiang Chu.
The event was based on the theme of wine, and the completed works are located in various spaces in
the city of Gurjaani and can be seen by visitors at any time. gurjaani is the birthplace of world wine, and
has been organizing the World Wine Festival since 2017, with the main aim of promoting unique products
such as qvevri and bottled wine, elevating the status of small entrepreneurs, and showcasing to locals and
international tourists theGeorgian culture and traditions.Today, the Gurjaani Wine Festival is an official partner
of the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), bringing its globally recognized wine
awards to Georgia for the first time.This milestone saw the competition go beyond its borders, allowing
a consortium of Georgian and international wine jury experts to evaluate 500 Georgian wines and award
a record number of gold medals.Participating sculptors were Valeri Gikia (Georgia), Jember Gikia (Georgia),
